First-time homebuyer Tax Credit deadline is April 30!

     The first-time homebuyer tax credit deadline is April 30! IRS defines a first-time buyer as someone who has not owned a principal residence during the three-year period prior to the new home purchase.
     The buyer must have the home under a signed contract by April 30th deadline, at that time the buyer has until June 30th to close on the deal and be eligible for the tax credit.
     The tax credit only applies to homes priced at $800,000.00 or less. The tax credit is equal to 10 percent of the home's purchase price up to a maximum of $8,000.00.
